Endurance Nosakhare Obasohan

Lawyer. Photographer. Writer. Visual storyteller. Founder and Creative Director of Shutter For Change , a movement using photography to heal Nigeria's collective trauma and reimagine national identity.

Endurance Nosakhare Obasohan is a Nigerian lawyer, photographer, writer, and visual storyteller whose work sits at the intersection of art, advocacy, and social change. He is the Founder and Creative Director of Shutter For Change, a visual advocacy movement that harnesses the power of photography to inspire healing of Nigeria's collective trauma, strengthen national identity, and spark meaningful conversations across communities.

Born in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, Endurance's creative journey began long before he picked up a camera. Growing up in a home surrounded by artists and makers, he was deeply influenced by an environment where imagination was part of everyday life. His elder brother, Dr Seraph Obasohan, an accomplished artist, painter, and sculptor, nurtured his appreciation for creativity and showed him that art could shape not only objects, but minds and societies.

His academic path reflects the same blend of creativity and critical thinking. He studied Marketing at Auchi Polytechnic before pursuing a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B.) at Ambrose Alli University, Edo State. He completed his professional legal training at the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, Adamawa State. This unique combination of business, law, and the arts has shaped his approach to storytelling, one that is thoughtful, strategic, and deeply human.

Through photography, Endurance seeks more than beautiful images. He believes every photograph has the power to preserve memory, challenge perception, restore dignity, and inspire action. This conviction gave birth to Shutter For Change, a movement dedicated to using authentic visual storytelling as a force for collective healing, civic engagement, and positive social transformation.

His work is driven by a simple but profound belief: when people begin to see themselves differently, they begin to imagine a different future.

Through every image, story, and project, Endurance continues to champion the idea that art is not merely a reflection of society, it is one of its most powerful tools for transformation.
